I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
