Major Russian Strikes Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and applying sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
